Hi guys!

I commend you for trying to make an all-in-one forum for Chesapeakes.

However, I must admit, I find the mssg. board difficult to read. The colors are dark, and I find the text doesn't stand out well... especially the red links.

I wish you luck.

Kerrie,

Thank you for your recommendations, but we've been on 3 different computers and don't see the site being "dark" one bit. Maybe it is possible that it could be your computers brightness or color settings, since we have taken a good hard look at the forum and main chessie page's colors after your comment and didn't see what you are seeing. I would ask that others reply to this recommendation so that I can see if they are having the same situation. We appeciate your comments and will assess the situation once we get more feedback from other users on this issue.

Regards,

Kerrie,

I've made a few subtle changes to the coloring of the message board to hopefully make it easier for you to read. Please advise.

Nope, not my monitors, sorry.

Also, sorry if you found my comments to be criticizing.

I was simply stating that you have a dark site which I find difficult to follow. You are using a dark olive green with a dark brown with a dark burgundy/red with an orange that although is brighter, is similiar in tone as the brown.

Maybe I'm the wrong person to ask since I regularly conduct Web usability testing as well as design and build Web sites for a living.

Again, I wish you luck with your site.

Kerrie,

No, please don't think that I found your comments criticizing. It's just that I, nor anyone else here on my end is seeing what you are seeing. I've tweaked the colors again, hoping that they will better your view. It's hard though, since I know that I want to stick with earth tones, but then again want to try to make it better for you to see. It's hard to try to tweak it though when all of the colors that I've done look fine here. I've consulted using different computer, both at home and work, and I still see the same visually pleasing screen. I appreciate your comments, don't think that I don't. I just wish a third party would chime in on this subject. Take care!

Steve

Thank you. ;D I don't know why she was saying it was hard to read. It is very viewable on all of the computers that I've ever logged in under (and that has been many).

As for is this new, well, it's been around for a couple of years, but within the past year we purchased http://www.MyChessie.com to make the main site and forum easier to get to and tell people about. Please feel free to spread the word. ;D
